p51 information
as stated in my other post I'm running these heads on my 521,how well do these heads work ootb? I've seen flow numbers but was curious how much better are they ported? I've heard they'll support over 800hp ootb.

Re: p51 information
I have seen 3 different 557 flat top 14:1 engines make 900 hp each with just a bowl clean up.

Go to this link and you can find a lot of info on the P's and SCJ's. Most of the info you are looking for is quite a ways down on the first page.

Re: p51 information
They are an excellent head out of the box,,,,,to answer your question.
With a fully ported and flowed set on a rather mundane 466 CID shortblock, 91 octane pump gas, Dave Freelander and I got 750 Hp. That was an EMC alternate engine with a Weiand tunnel ram and 2 X 4 set-up.
Hope this helps,
Charlie

Re: p51 information
thanks for the info,I apologize for asking so many questions but with this economy like it is,I don't want to nor can afford to buy the wrong parts as I'm sure everyone can understand that.the only way to know is to ask right... just hoping this new combo will net us the 6.0 ets in the 1/8 were looking for and hopefully without any power adders,if not I guess we can always thro some more cubes at it.thanks again for all the help guys

X2. I agree. We all learn from A dumb question to a experienced guy, is not dumb at all to a person trying to learn as much as he can about a given subject.schmitty wrote:Questions are good. We love to help build new engines.

if the block can take .080 over , see no reason not to do for it. things go wrong , why stray to save a stock block ? wear it out, we should all be so lucky

Re: p51 information
My build is a 552.Jet Boat Bob just finished.Waiting to dyno in the upcoming weeks.
A-460 block
scat crank
scat 6.8 rods
kasse oil pump
Diamond pistons
Comp roller rockers
Isky roller lifters
Comp cam (Specs BY Cam Guru Lem Evans)
MSD dizzy
P-51 heads fully ported by (Charlie Evans)
Motorsport 4500 intake ported by (Charlie Evans)drilled for fogger nitrous 250 shot
Jomar stud gridle
holley 1150
Meizere elect water pump
Trick flow sheet metal valve covers
Mildon oil pan
This is going in my 66 Prostreet Fairlane.Car is full tubbed rear tires 31x18.50x15.Front rack&pinion coilover strut. No shock towers.Car will be driven to local cruise inns and shows, and at the local drag strip.Yhe cam ended up having a 742 lift trying to give the best of both worlds of street driving and some track time. Thanks to Lem he worked all of that out.Bass Boat Bob did a terrific job on machining and assemlbing this motor. When I get more pictures and dyno pictures and HP numbers I will do a write up in the build section. When I find out what date Bob and I can get together on the dyno,I will post the date and all are welcome to come and watch.Michael

Re: p51 information
Compression is 10.9.Want to be able to run 93 pump gas along with race fuel, not just race fuel all the time.Hard to go to cruise in"s and pull to the pump and get race gas.
