Vacumn pumps Empty Vacumn pumps

Guy's I need your input. I'am in the market for a Vacumn pump setup(new/used) for Lil Tweety. What are preferred for a wet sump setup? I was thinking maybe a 3 vane pump pulling from the valve cover. What brand seems to work better than others and what kind of HP difference on the Dyno,w/or w/out a pump?

3vane is right for a wet sump, we have gain 35+ on the dyno

Rick,

The Stefs and GZ pumps are reworked Ford smog pumps and are in the Ford Racing/SVO catalogs. The Moroso pumps are good also. I've used the Moroso 3 vane pump and seen an 18 Hp increase on the dyno on a 498 CID engine in back to back testing. You'll see a little more on bigger engines.

Rick,
I have no data as far as engine dyno numbers. How ever I would steer clear of the Aerospace pump. I had one new and it was a piece of shit. I ended up putting a Moroso 4 vane on my motor even though it was intended for a dry sump setup. Simply use a vacuum bleed off valve that is adjustable and limit how much vaccuum it will pull

Travis.

Hey, Travis:
What problems did you experience with the Aerospace vacuum pump? I just want to know as I have the same set up on my 545 and haven't had any problems (so far). What are the issues?
