puts some alky in the pan .And yes its got the right pill it will run within a couple hundreths all day.
Thanks for the info guys
Alky motors need some sort of evac, the electric smog pump deal worked awesome for me. I just put my Moroso 3 vane on because I had it, plan on running only like 5-6" hg.

About how many inches would you say a smog pump pulls, 5 or 6, I am switching to alky this year, and I got me a smog pump for the condensation problem, hope it works.

Take the cover off and make sure the little foam filter is not there.
Mine would pull 5", this was with the engine off, 16volt batt. Put some holes in the big rubber cover and mount it some way it can get airflow though it, they build a lot of heat in the little electric motor, this will help it last a long time.

O.K. that sounds easy enough, thanks for the tips.

Also put the tank on the suction side of the pump between it and the engine, keeps the mess out of the pump and makes it live longer. Just leave the exhaust side of the pump open, mine never left any oil or water residue anywhere.

O.K. let it draw through the air/oil seperator right, do you just plug the other valve cover where I had the exhaust evac?

Re: Vacuum Pumps and BBFs
I just saw on another site about using an alternator from an Isuzu diesel, which has a vacuum pump on the back of it. That could be an interesting option, as well.

Those little pumps are to work vacuum accessories, not near enough volume for a crankcase evac.

Re: Vacuum Pumps and BBFs
ah, well, I figured since the discussion had moved towards the idea of using much less vacuum (approx 7lbs, etc) than these may work. Like most of my other posts, I have no idea

Yes, plug the engine up.............no need to pull air though it, just pulls more oil and such into the take.
At the end of the day I get the motor real hot, shut it off, and while we load everything up I let the vacuum pump run.................I do pull the cap off of the other cover to let it pull air though the engine......unless the humidity st like 100 percent then I just leave it capped...............
