Re: AIR PAN PICS .....
It's not a great picture Nick, but all I did was cut a hole to fit over the carb, and used the air cleaner base I had for a Dominator & riveted it in place. I bought the air pan foam from Jegs, & with some 3-M M-77 spray adhesive I glued it in place. The hood is all that holds the pan in place.

Bruno,
I have a few in the engine pics section if you want to search for them. ART has some real nice air bells for making the transition to the carb, I bought some for my 62 project but have not made it that far yet.

Re: AIR PAN PICS .....
I guess this mean the intake is coming out of the display case?
I'll dig to see if I have some of my old setup. Since you have a cowl hood I'd make it at least that wide and leave it open to draw air in from the rear. That's what I plan to do on mine once the engine shows up in there.

yep its back on the engine ....... have to redo my purge lines and some fuel lines ...
do you guys think drawing the air from the rear is just as effective as a front scoop ??

Re: AIR PAN PICS .....
I believe that will work great,by cutting a hole in the front of your cowl hood.

Re: AIR PAN PICS .....
In technical terms, an open front scoop will draw in more/better air than a cowl scoop. With a properly built air pan, the "Ram Air" effect is better than that of a cowl induction.

Re: AIR PAN PICS .....
How tall is your radiator? I plan to put a small Scirocco style radiator in mine. It's short enough to fit below the grill opening which will allow me to fab an air pan from the grill opening to the carb. Sort of like what the PST guys had used on their trucks.

Get rid of the radiator...................... No need for it on a heads up car anyway.

X2 On what KY said. If you look at alot of wind tunnel testing, there's actually not a great deal of air at the opening of a cowl at the base of the windshield. Here's an inside view of mine Nick, after I finished it last spring.

Re: AIR PAN PICS .....
Stick you some of them NACA ducts on the underside of the cowl. I think Chris Corey has some on his cowl hood.
