Tires..................
I really do not get all heart burn about this. I.M.O. the reasons to do a narrow tire.
1] It's all one can get in their car.
2] Rules say one has to have 10.5 tire.
3] One wants to be like the guys that have to run the 10.5....Even if it's not what one needs to do.

Re: Tires..................
My car is just mini-tubbed and I can fit up to a 29.5w but still run a true ten five. I can hook on that tire so I see no reason to need the big tire band-aid for a bad suspension or no tuning ability.
by the way, I am just kidding!!!!
To each their own on tire size, type of suspension, and so on. This is one of the reasons that I like drag racing, diversity. Damn, I'm starting to sound like a hippy or something.
If we built our cars the same, we could drive in circles and call it a spectator sport though.

I run a big tire on my cars because I like winning money bracket racing. I can hardly wait to kick your asses again this year. And they look cool all tubbed out I've got skinny tires on my convertible that I go around corners real fast with

If I bracket raced I would run the biggest tire that I could. When we started bracket racing our TS car back in the late 90's we could run a set of tires forever. These little damn tires I run now don't last worth a F&^%.

i think it takes more money to run a small tire car then a big tire car- wit the small tires your having to have way more electrnic control what your motor is doing -VS- a big tire where you can throw everything at it just my opinion
i think the small tire thing is only for the select small group of people and its kinda like more impressive as well -

I agree w/running a big tire if you are a bracket racer,BUT not as big as you can get. Only use a tire as big as you NEED. If it will hook EVERYTIME on a small tire, then thats what you need. IMO, if it will always hook w/small tire, the car WILL be faster. But if you are a TRUE BLUE bracket racer, you can't be in doubt if it's gonna hook.

Bracket racers want big old tires, with low horse power, don't want it to loose any traction, bracket racing is all about numbers, not speed, consistency is the key, same every pass, keep the wheel spin to a minumum (s/p), cut a light be a winner.

NOW THATS SOME FUNNY CHIT
Re: Tires..................
I personnally think that it became "to easy" to go fast on a big tire so people wanted a challenge and started doing it on the "little" tires so they could say "look what I can do". For a while the tire was the limiting factor in some of these "small tire" classes, but now the tire manufacturers have stepped up their game and along with traction control and programmable ignitions, it is common to see mid to low 7 second passes in the 1/4 and mid 4's in the 1/8. Hell, they're running low 5's and high 4's on 275-60's, I personnally like the small tire stuff.
