c6 Transmission acc?
How do you know how big of a transmission fluid cooler to use? If I remember right I need to use a stack plate type cooler. Fan?
Looking at a cast alumin pan. Should I get the kit that has the filter extension? The pan I am eyeballing is the B&M that holds an extra 2qts. It just doesn't come with a filter and filter extension like some of the other pans.
Locking dipstick, does anyone else beside Hughs sell one? (besides Lokar's flexable)

I would use the biggest cooler that will fit where you want it. I used an 11x11x1.75 on my nitrous ride. We are using an 8x11x1.75 now with the turbo ride but it in the ice tank. I have never used a fan but it is not a bad idea. Yes stack type not that fin junk.
I like the deep pans. I usually buy my tranny accessories from Art Carr in Abilene. http://www.artcarr.com/page/home.acpp
They also have the locking dip sticks. I like the Lokar because it has a quick coupler at both ends of the tube. It hurts to spend the money at first but it is a one time purchase.

I wonder what the purpose is for the filter extension?

So transmissions have problems empting the pan when they are running higher line pressures?

Re: c6 Transmission acc?
kind of. I think it is more because of the sloshing associated with acceleration.

Frank likes and I have used as well the TCI pan, comes with a pretty neat extension that lets you use the stock filter.
2x on the biggest stack plate cooler you can get. Rob one from a 04 and up sd p/u, they are huge!

Good idea on the fluid cooler! I'll have to hit the scrap yards or do they sell them at the autoparts stores?
I was real interested in the B&M but it didn't come with the adapter, where the TCI comes with every thing and looks good.

Re: c6 Transmission acc?
Another question.... Where do you monitor your trans fluid temp? Does the C6 have a port like the 4r100?

Re: c6 Transmission acc?
Trans temp is best read in the pan. As for pan the TCI one is nice . You could use a 4x4 filter with the slip in tube would work too.

Re: c6 Transmission acc?
we like to read tranny temp before it goes into the cooler circuit. that does not mean that it is the best but we wanted the hottest reading in the trans. Most people just put it in the pan.
