another guy from new zealand
hi everyone my name is gary cawthra i live in a place called lower hutt in new zealand.
been a ford fan for as long as i can remember built a few engines for myself and a few others over the past.
been drag racing a 1972 xa falcon coupe (right hand drive for us down here) for about the last 10 years or so,have had quite a few other falcons in the past as well.
the coupe had a rear half chassie with 15x15 on the back running a 351c with nos use to run hi 8s.
changed a couple of years ago to big block 528 with c460 heads and a wilson single carb manifold, car use to weight 1690kgs not sure what that is in pounds.
got it into the low 8s before a alloy rod decided to take a little trip out the side of the block, was a a460 block as well:(
so the quest to go faster...built a full tube chassie for it,got a f3 prochager (off steve morris new era racecraft what a real helpful guy )running through a kinsler stack injection with a custom air box on the top.
car should be running for next season (out season has just ended)
i will post some pictures when i figure it out
was looking for a new crank on the web when i came across this site..and what a great site it is
if anyone is interested in drag racing down under there is a forum site we use called NZV8 not as good as this one but hey thats all we got..
well that about all i can think of at the moment, and thanks for letting me join...
