Beech Bend Raceway (Bowling Green , KY) is under water !....ALOT OF IT !!

The red barn top in the 2nd pic is of the ticket barn @ the finish.

That's terrible. Our track up here in Owingsville is FLOODED as well, don't know for sure about Clay City.

its going to take weeks to clean these places up ...and hopefully the water resides quickly ......... good ole mother nature

looks like May 9th ...they should be all cleaned up

Holy crap. No that is some serious flooding.

As high as the water is, the mud will be thick.

I don't think the cleanup will be as quick as some people might believe.

Why do people build a dragstrip in the middle of a river?

Wow, that is terrible.

Is that going to cause any permanent damage to the track surface?

That system has caused a bunch of damage and unfortunately death too. I heard over 20 deaths on the news

Yeah Rick, down in a hole with a fair size creek running along the tree line behind the track. Pretty bad deal. I hate to see Beech Bend like that. That dude in the boat by the Holley crosswalk is bizarre!

Unreal! I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Last year in the middle of May, DAYTONA USA was flooded all the way up the banking to the wall.
It WAS a lake ... almost 80 feet deep in the infield. ALL track vehicles, (22 of them), along with two jet dryers were trash and EVERYTHING inside every building.
A month and a half, (and a whole bunch of money), later for the 4th of July race, it was "spick & span".

Wow that's just crazy i would bet it's going to take a long time for that to dry out.I guess it was a good call on NMCA's part to cancel the race this past weekend wasn't it supposed to be at Beech Bend?

Truly sad to see BB like that. I have loved that track since the 70's when my Dad took the whole family to watch the NHRA Sportsnationals.
That was the day I got hooked on drag racing.

Yes Mark,

I was planning on racing that event but I made the call Wednesday night "I'm not going" due to the forecast. I'm glad NMCA cancelled the race Thursday afternoon/evening.

Shame to see Beech Bend under water like that. BG is my favorite track...

I hope they can get-r-done for the HotRod Reunion!! They've got they're hands full for sure. I really like to race there , great people and track. Dallas has always took care of us local racers , he's a stand up guy and a good friend!!!I won my 1st race there in the early 80's. The whole Jones family are involved heavily in Beech Bend and Music City and run top notch race facilities. Best of luck to you all on this disaster!!
