00 & 000 Buck for Hunting

I am thinking next year about using a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 12 gauge loaded with 00 or 000 Buck next year while in a tree stand near a feeder or when kicking up Hogs in the Palmeto thickets.

Think this will work as good planned

Thats what I use through an 1100 12 gauge semi-auto Remington. My problem I have is usually when I see deer they are on the run or 80yds out in a fairly thick woods. Buckshot gives me that little extra edge over a slug, works everytime .

I would use 000 buck. I don't remember how many there are, but there's a handful of 36 caliber balls in there and they're very effective.

I believe there's 9 for 000 and 11 for 00.

I thought that was it. All I know is, when you hit somthing good with them, things stop happening in a hurry.

I have killed more deer with a shot gun with buck shot than I have with a rifle but I have not hunted out in the open very much.I have used both 00 and 000 buck shot with good luck never like slugs on the 000 shot I use a full choke and on the 00 extrafull turckey choke Win. 1300 12ga. 3'' mag

I've used the 00 on coyotes amd it works great. I don't know about hogs though, thems some tough critters.

If I can knock the Hog down I can track it via it's Blood trail and finish things up close with a single or double tap of .357 Magnum.

This last hunt was my 1st time hunt'n Hogs(and the 1st time I've hunted since the late '80's-early '90's) and now I got the fever all I can think about most of the time is going back.
