Re: Greetings from Edmonton, AB
Yes it is a fastback. I bought it for $550.00 when I was 15.
When I was young and poor I kept modifying the 390. 4 barrel cast iron manifold
and dual exhaust was the first thing. Then I added a 3.56 geared 9" differential.
Then came the Hooker headers - a big ticket item back in the 80's over $600.00.
Next was an aluminum intake and cam change (one of several) Last cam in the 390 was a Lunati
stock class cheater cam.
The car sat in my parents garage for 10 years. Then came the BBF.
What an enormous difference - 500+ cu in does the job.

Cool. My father had a 68 XL GT fastback 390 4spd. That was the gateway drug to the way I am today. I would love to see more photos. Its not a body style that you see many of.

Re: Greetings from Edmonton, AB
Picture when I was in high school.
Did alot of cruising in Lethbridge back them.
390 at that time.
Also the old paint job too. Those wheels were popular way back then.
Now the car sits much lower on the back.

Re: Greetings from Edmonton, AB
Thank you!
Great looking notchback stang. I have always loved how those look, and the price is right as well.
I haven't been out to castrol or Jasper ave. I have done some limited driving around the west end.
I don't get great fuel economy and C12 isn't as low cost as it used to be.
Cheers

Re: Greetings from Edmonton, AB
thats a real nice car! Mines a 68' Galaxie 500 Convertible. Howd you get the engine to sit so low in the engine bay? How much does she weigh?

Weight? 4200 w/driver
I don't think the engine sits low at all. Carb comes very close to the hood.
The oil pan has about .125" clearance above cross member.
Picture from when the weather was warmer.
I still need rear pass side wheel well chrome (if you look closely)

Re: Greetings from Edmonton, AB
Back together and running fantastic.
Had a 1150, then a 1050 CN carb - both were fine at wide open throttle but terrible street manners.
Finally sent the CN modified 1050 to Patrick - many changes were made - and do they work!
Idle and off idle is great. The engine sounds like it has a smaller cam.
