Is 5" enough rear coil over travel?
I've been taking some measurements and it looks like the Afco shocks with 5" of travel are about all I can fit under the floor assuming the ride height would be right in the middle of the travel. Is this enough (2.5" both ways)?

Haven't decided on spring rate yet. Does 130 lbs seem about right on your car? How much does your car weigh?

my car weighed 3500 like your car! It would leave with the wheels up about 8 plus inches! pull a 1.35/1.40 sixty foot times. I am guessing that it liked the 130 springs, I was using short ladder bars 30"and I am switching to 36". the 65 falcon, 347 C4 combo with ladder bars...we use a 95 lbs spring on strange shocks.

The old school thinking for rear coil overs was for a "street rod" you mounted it so the shock shaft was half in/half out at ride height, and for "drag racing" most of the shock shaft was in the shock with only about 1" of the shock shaft visible.
But the smart way is to call your shock maker & go by what they call for since most of them figure correct shock distance at ride height by the top/bottom mounting bolt's center-to-center measurement.
