So I just inherited a '93 F350 SD with a 460
Hello all. So like the title says, my Ma just gave me her '93 F350 with the 460 (I fly to Oregon at the end of the month to pick it up and drive it back to Atlanta) and after doing a little research I am a little disappointed with the stock numbers.
I figure that once I get it back here I'll do a mild build, I am thinking about 350 hp or so, but I know literally nothing about these motors or where to start. I was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction.

Looks like it's in pretty good shape except for the passenger side mirror. When you get ready to start your rebuild go to the Engine Tech section and ask away.
Later Mark.

Thanks for the welcome!
Yeah, the truck's in really good shape, there are a few very small issues. The rear bumper is off, but straight. The side mirror is broken, but I already bought one on eBay and it's on it's way to Oregon. There is a dead battery from sitting for about 1 1/2 years and that's about it. I have a mechanic going through the truck next week, then I fly out to get it on the 26th.
Not only am I looking forward to the drive (my best friend and I are making a week of it), but I am really looking forward to this truck. I have always been into Ford pickups (and Fords in general), my first vehicle was a '75 F100 Ranger with the 390, we had an '88 Extra Cab that we took on a run with the Friends of the Eastern Mojave when I was a kid, I had a '64 Galaxie fast back with the 390 Police interceptor that I lost before I finished (looking for another if you know where an affordable car is) and I currently have a '05 Eddie Bauer Expedition on Saleen F150 wheels that I plan on doing some major mods to once I get my wife another kid mobile.
Anyways, looking forward to learning more about this truck and more so this motor. I know it is capable of significantly more power and I'm ready to do it. Like now. I know I say about 350, but knowing me I'll be at 600 in 6 months. I have a bad habit of obsessing a bit. You should see my Jeep.
