I can't wait to see what the 472 does at the track!!
My engine setup is real close to the same. Except it's in a 4000lb pig
Good luck with both builds

Well maybe almost
While i was grinding for the bars that go into the hatchback, i found out that the guy that my buddy took his car to for paint, had cut out the spare tirewell and covered it with a piece of metal  well what he did is put a piece of 3/16 plate over the hole and then used some 4'' wide strips to fill in the sides and front because his plate wasen't big enough, well he tried to weld it all together with a stickwelder i think that was way too hot, once he destroyed it all and figured he screwed up so now he covered the whole thing with a boat load of fiberglass so my buddy could'nt tell  what a mess Â

So i ended up welding a bar between the frame rails so i would have something to weld the back bars to plus it will help stiffin up the back a bit.

Well my buddys iron head project is done and running strong.
Its been a long process but its done finally I do thank my good buddy Melvyn for stepping in last week and helping my buddy finish the last pieces of the project at his shop ,such as installing the dash and lexan windshield i made, hooking up his trans cable and neutral saftey switch, bolting in the seats, oil dip stick, and most of all helping my buddy bring the thing to life and break it in (which i was happy to hear it fired the first push of the button ) and then went on to swap in the inner springs and get it fired up again, and sunday went to the first tnt of the season and on the 4th pass mustered up a very spinning 10.76 @ 124 mph with a 1.47 60' at 3020 lbs and shifting at 6k (the cam is 3400 to 6800) , After all this time and hard work from the k member to the rear ,other than the wiring the owner did it, (it was a bare shell when i got it) i really wanted to finish it to the end , but have been under a extreme amount of stress if thats what its called due to holding my mothers hand in Maine febuary 2nd while she passed , i've never lost somebody that close to me before she was my everything, my saftey net , my world and more and still not sure how to deal with it , i was in Maine for 25 days by her side with my brothers and Dad and on the 2nd when she asked us to remove the oxygen mask and let her go our hearts sank , we didn't know what to say , all i could say was mom your gonna be ok and so will we because you raised three strong boys and we'll take care of Dad and each other and i know you'll always watch over us like you always have and always will, and they removed the mask and it took a hour for her last breath, we know shes in a better place , she was suffering bad, she was taking 33 breaths a minute gagging and choking with the special pressurized oxygen mask due to emphysema, God its killing me to write this as im crying again , im not sure how long it takes to get back to normal if i ever can but man its hard , she just turned 67 December 18th , we'll miss ya forever Mom

Re: SCJ and ported C8 472'' in the works (both finally done)
try to keep your head up man and think shes in a better place looking over you and your family .
My mother is from maine also and her side of the family ...she met my dad and moved to Mass were we all live now ...but she was from Newport Maine ....not far from Bangor very nice up there
My close uncle just passed at age of 71 ..due to heart failure ....was a huge car guy and had several model a cars , a packard roadster and several others ....always the type of guy being out and about doing somthing but last year he went downhill fast, its hard to see someone fail health wise . to me at least the hardest part is watchingt someone not be who they really are and do the things they did and suffer . I d like to say i find peace knowing hes not suffering now .
God bless and keep ya head up high ...sounds like you had a great mother and she raised a good family
