I think you've got the heater wire and A/C wire crossed or connected somewhere. Double check and make sure you didn't hook the one a/c wire up to the on position for the heat along with the heat wire.

Keith make sure it is full on refrig. if he hasn't used it in a while add a can of oil. If it has the rear a/c run the a/c on high max on both front and back for some reason mine will show the system is full with front on and the back off.I know you have to have the a/c on high max when filling one. But didn't think about it the first time I had to add some to mine and didn't have the rear on that how I found out about it not being completly full without both on but showing full with rear off.An when it is full the a/c will not cycle in and out as much even with the heat on.

Nothing wrong with it, that's the way it works. My 88 GT, 93 Ranger, 01 LIghtning, and my wife's 05 Mariner all function the same way.

Tell him mine has 216,000 something miles on it and has done it as long as I have owned it.He probley never notice it until yall was working on it and if the A/C wasn't working is the reason he didn't hear it going in and out.Or let him carry it to the A/C Shop and pay them to tell him that is the way it is set up from the factory. Some times th know it alls has to pay to hear it before they beleave for them selves.

I thought that the a/c is used when the heater is in defroster mode??? I 'thought' the a/c helps pull the humidity out of the air to help defrost the windows more efficiently... Neutral
