Re: ORSCA Huntsville, Al.
from ORSCA on the yb
guys it's not the heat alone. hell we have raced in the heat of dead summer for almost 10 years.Put a freakin wet towel over your head have your old lady open the cooler and rest her butt in the ice. It is the lack of partisipation of all. The racers are not coming out . The fans are not coming out. Its not just the outlaw style of racing that is suffering. Its all racing in General.
Atl Dragway Night of fire. One of their biggest events next to the nationals. they spent the same money and did exactly the same promotions as last year . This year they took in less than Half of the revenue they did last year.
Anyone happen to notice the grandstands at Norwalk nationals . You could have shot a cannon up in the stands and had a good chance of not hitting anyone. Like it or not we have to make business decissions. We know plans are made and everyone has to move to the same beat in order for things to happen.
Bottom line is you go into a race track any race track right now with the heat with no fans and lack of racer support with an expense of 70.000 like orsca carries to each event you better bring a fat check book with you or plan on having a video made about your sorry ass next week. Our job is making ORSCA survive for the long haul and we have no plans of throwing in the towel .
Know that we will make decissions based on what we think is a best result for ORSCA to survive some very tough times that many will now not survive.
ORSCA wants to race Huntsville no question. They are still on our schedule for 2010.
These decisions will not be from rumors . Todd berry and Myself as well as the staff of ORSCA will make these decisions.
These will be made very shortly in plenty of time for you to make the plans you need to make. We do not like changes in schedules but right now if you keep doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result
Thats the definition of insanity.

Re: ORSCA Huntsville, Al.
I understand where they are coming from, the economy is about ready to take another dump from everything i've been reading............................... Sucks, but its probably a smart thing for them to postpone it rather than take it in the shorts with no car count or people in the stands.
