Ready to go for the season IMG00010-20100706-1532
Got it done tonight, and it sure sounds good. New cam, intake, headers and 38.5 skinny boggers. Did a little trimming here and there to fit them tires. No lift and stock suspension. Very Happy

Maybe we'll have to get a crew together and come up and motivate you Twisted Evil I've been lucky enough to get some timely rains here this last weekend, or it would still be sitting in pieces in the shop.

Don't feel too bad, I'm not done either. I need Hobbs to come up here and do some glass work for my hood Razz . What are the specs on that cam shmitty? Its a custom grind right? I can't wait to hear it run!

Well we kicked some butt and took initials, going to fast to get full names. I think ole Lem said it best when we were talking about the cam, "gonna run like a dog shytin pizzas". Them some mighty true words there. Big thanks to Mr. Snake for the advice on setting up that "Lem, Damon" cam, and Doug for helping me get some other stuff sorted out today. Started the day out bad, warmed up the engine, and made a few gravel road launches with it and it was coughing and sputtering and running like crap. Pulled it back in the shop and peeled it down and set the valves hot. Couple were off and got that taken care of. Back out for another pass and still not running good, would get real nasty above 4500 RPM. NOT GOOD. Loaded it up on the trailer and got ready to go, stopped by the parts store for some new plug wires. Got teched in peeled the front off, put on new wires and still the same. Started pulling hair and getting new ideas. I had lent an old MSD 6 box to a buddy last year and he was there and said try the old reliable and see what she does. Hooked it up quick and lo and behold I heard angels singing. Pulled up past 7 without a pause. Took off and whipped the tar out of some really good competition tonight. Mind you I'm still running the chassis as it came from the factory, no ladder bars or nothing. Cut the fenders and trimmed the bumper to make the thimg work as is. Only one guy there that would have been fun to run and he broke an axle on his second pass. Most of the guys in this class are running some seriously chopped trucks with BIG cut boggers, yes they are all W's. Felt good to kick some butt once again. Very Happy Only thing I didn't do after we got the thing running right was put a vac guage on to see what it was puling, but I am guessing it was pretty close to the 14"@1000 that is needed for the SS class. I only ran the modified class tonight.

Damon thanks for the bumpstick, it is the ticket.
The HeRo seat is what made all of the difference, when you gots the HeRo power behind you nothing can stop you.
I'll download the vid tomorrow for you viewing pleasure. Gotta get some shut eye now.

Cool Very Happy Very Happy Cool Very Happy Cool Very Happy king

Congrats Rob. Glad you had fun, and glad you got it sorted out. If he's still there, give MSD a shout and ask for Joe. He's always been good to me. He'll get ya straightened out.

Gonna give em a shout today. Kind of a bad deal having a box go bad like that, but it happens. That's racing. Cool

I had trouble seeing the light in this lane, and took a huge nap on the line. But I reeled him in on the big end HeRo style. Very Happy
