I'm not sure.
I shift at 6600 RPM to try to keep it safe. I started collecting parts for this motor about 6 years ago and the crank and rods were the first thing I bought. At that time I wasn't planning on using P-51's. They didn't have all of the forged crank offerings that are available today. If I was starting over I'd probably go with a 4340 forged deal but so far I've got about 50 passes on this one and its doing fine. When I freshen it up I may switch to a forged piece but right now this one will have to last for awhile.

Re: 512 CI P-51 Heads
i ran a cast scat and had good luck.i turned it 6600 to sold it and the guy suck nano with 250 on it and broke it in 5 pieces.i was just wondering how much hp your making cause i know those heads can make serious power.i told him he was on the border but he one of them hardheads but he knows now and said he wish he would have left the nano and nitrous alone.
