Anyone have knowledge on the new 6.2 engine in the Raptor
I have read some articals but none seem to answer the questions I have.
Does the Raptor use a different transmission with the 6.2 than 5.4 in the regular F150?
Is the wiring harness the same between Raptor 6.2 and F150 5.4?
Is Ford going to offer a crate engine package with this engine?
Do they share the same engine mounts? (5.4-6.2)

I know the 6.2 in the Raptor makes 411 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 434 pound feet of torque at 4,500 rpm.In the Super Duty trucks it makes 385 horsepower and 405 pound feet of torque.I'm not sure about the Transmission and other questions you asked,Later Mark.

Re: Anyone have knowledge on the new 6.2 engine in the Raptor
its a 6.2L for the record, and it uses a 6 speed trans. Thats all i've heard so far. If the 5.4 truck uses a 6 speed as well i'd bet they are the same.
The 6.2 is already available in the superduty's as well. I believe it will be my next truck. Only know of one guy with one, a chevy guy(well he was), AND he is impressed so thats good enough for me.

I was a little disappointed when I read it was only a 2 valve head. It seemed like a step backwards from what Ford has been thinking the last 10 years. I guess it is cheaper to build and it is going to be a truck engine so......

Yes it's a two valve head, but have you seen the Valves?
With the head design, (having two spark plugs) how do you stack 3 to 4 valves in that design? Two was our only option.
Ask big "D" about the trans... I think it's a smaller build of the 6.7L trans? No sure.

Sorry, 6.2!
If I am not mistaken the 09 and up F150 have the 6 speed automatic also. Another question I have, do they share the same type engine mounts?

I personaly would rather have as few valves as posable. Have you ever priced how much it cost to do cam, valves and valvesprings in a 4v? Atleast the 3v sticks with two camshafts!

Re: Anyone have knowledge on the new 6.2 engine in the Raptor
I didn't realize that it had two spark plugs. Heck 5 years ago the 3 valve was so much better than a 2v but cheaper than a 4valve so I figured they would continue one with that thinking if it was so much better.

The F250 6.2L engine is 385 HP and 405 lbs. ft. tq.
Re: Anyone have knowledge on the new 6.2 engine in the Raptor
same trans, different bell housing pattern. The setup on the trans is different also (calibration)
if anybody is looking to buy a F-150 soon, I would wait for the new motor option's!
5.0 or twin turbo. It's going to be worth your wait! The 5.4 is headed to the end of it's great run...

Re: Anyone have knowledge on the new 6.2 engine in the Raptor
I so wish I would have waited until the 6.2 came out in the Raptor before I bought my 2010 with the 5.4. I was just wondering how hard it would be to do a engine swap instead of buying a new truck. Just a thought!

The way the electronics, modules and such are I would think buying a new one would be the way to go.

All I can tell you is the 5.4 is history real soon 2v and 4v. the reason "Gas guzzlers" There is way more HP and TQ in both new power plants and they get WAY better fuel numbers.

I seen those 6.2 heads in a magazine somewhere that the SAM school ported and were getting big flow numbers out of them,Later Mark.
