NEW GUY from Nor Cal
Hey guys.
AS you might be able to tell, I am building a '56 F-100, I am 51 and have had the truck since I was 17. I drove the snot out of it with a 390/C6 combo for about 5 years, then stripped the truck down to a bare frame, then got married and raised two kids.
Now, it is my turn.
The truck now has a IFS set up and a dummied up 429/C6 combo on mounts. Way back when I spent about a week with a Sears portable sandblaster cleaning the frame and bottom of the cab, now that I am getting going again I finding that the aftermarket has exploded with support for these trucks, and things are gonna be fun.
The rear suspension is next, it is going to be mini-tubbed with 29x15.00-20 M/T SR tires on 20x14 Coys wheels, the wheels and tires arrived last week and we will begin working on the rear susp. soon.
After reading all the great info here I am leaning towards a pump gas aluminum head single 4 bbl. stroker engine, but having spent so much time away frm the Blue Oval, I am doing alot of reading!
