700r4 isssue

who makes a full manual valve body for the 700r4 tranny ? and is it a drop in deal or does it need to be tore apart ? thanks..and the tranny is 100% new..good clutches, coverte servo and shell..etc...we had it behind a stock 350 and it shifted great, built a new motor and swap the injection to a carb . it shift 1-2 easy but does weird stuff into drive, like its out of fluid but its not, i think it may be the adjust of the tv cable , so we want to just by pass the cable

I believe TCI does. I had a cheetah mvb in a 700r4 once. FWIW I could not get the tranny to last however.... no matter what the guys building it claimed. I crapped it 3 times in 1 season before literally tossing it in a dumpster. This was behind a 500hp 383sbc with a 200 hit of nos. Swapped in a th350 that would last a full season before needing a go thru.

If your drag racing the 700r4 isn't a good choice. it tough enough keeping those things together in the street with something a little hot.

its not mine and i have told him this but you know how these chevy guys are, he had a vette servo installed in it and now he thinks its bullet proof

all that does is allow it to shift into OD under full throttle....... Whats the matter with a TH350??? Not enough gears?

im serious he thinks its bullet proof ,and it is new so , balo..bla..bla..he is a dumb ass chevy guy, i tired to help as much a possibly, but he would not listen at all, he had all his chevy Buddie telling him this and that, now he thinks the car is a low 11 sec car, i made a pass in it , best it ran was 13.61 , once he gets it all worked out it will go 12.20 range, which is not bad , the motor is pretty cheap build, if he would listen to me it would be a 11.90 car,

It will not last ! These trans run hotter than any other trans stock and have a boat load of issuses that GM cant fix.

i know..i know..we went trough this on my brothers s10, he spend close to 3000.00 on his before it would hold up, normal chevy guy thinks his chit is tough and its junk, not a bad motor but still a turd
