Re: Kristina Lawyer ......
Welcome, from Plymouth MI. That has to be nice to be able to race a rail car, I know a guy in Warren that has one. He's known as Mr. Meyers.
Congrats on the win by the way. What was so special about that event? Was is supposed to be a BIG event or something?

bb429power,
Seeing as how I'm kinda' like Kristina's "adopted Uncle Charlie", I'll try to answer your questions.
Kristina grew up racing go karts and junior dragsters. Then her parents got a SBC powered dragster for her that ran 5.40's and 50's. Then she graduated into some real BB Ford power and started running 4.70's on motor and 4.50's on nitrous.
She is a graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. (We held our past Racers Winter Tech Seminar at Rose-Hulman and many of the guys on this forum where present there for it.) She has a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering also. She is currently going to school in Michigan, on scholarship working on her doctorate. She is 24 years old has won the Lynn St.James Female Engineer of the Year Award. She also won Super Pro at the Ford Bash in 2008.
You need to go to NHRA.com and click on Division 3 and the Jegs Super Quick 32 Series and read up on it, and that will hopefully explain how important this series of races is. It is a season long series of races run on the 1/8th mile at various tracks throughout NHRA Div 3. The low side minimum e.t. is 4.50 so Saturday night for example, we had 32 dragsters that ran between 4.50 and 4.75. I "think" 4.75 was the bump spot, so as you can tell it is a very competitive series. A member of this forum Phillip Oakley from here in Owensboro, KY is a former Jegs Super Quick 32 Champion. The winner of each race gets $2,000 and an NHRA Wally trophy at each event and then at the end of the year at the NHRA Div 3 Banquet, the Series Champion is crowned in Indy.
Hope this helps,
Charlie Evans

Congrats !
Way to go girl, Congrats on the win. Just one of many I suspect. I sure don't want to have to race you. Good luck with your Division 3 championship run. Welcome to the site.

Re: Kristina Lawyer ......
That's impressive to be honest with you. I know what the Wallie is all about, my friends dad races a top alcohol dragster. He's got one. Kristina, keep on keepin on! Would I be able to see you run at Milan at all? I like to see girls get into the sport, I hate when they are looked at as bad racers because they are a girl. I give every racer credit, if they deserve it, regardless of gender. You did great, my dad tried getting me into Jr. dragsters but $$$ wasn't there. But at least I am able to have my big boy toys with some real power!

Re: Kristina Lawyer ......
Everyone,
Thanks for all of the kind words and support! It is really impressive how the Ford community sticks together.
Uncle Charlie already gave you my life story, but if any of you ever want to keep tabs on us (including Bob the motorhome!) check out LawyerMotorsports.com. I update it constantly and you'll find all kinds of information there including all the round to round results from every race. I'd love to hear any comments any of you have on the site (things to add, things that don't make sense, etc.) so feel free to contact me about it. I'll start adding more information about my fellow Ford racers in the blog so you guys can keep informed about them too.

Great to see you here, I started back at Kil-Kare a week too late to see you and your family, and Philip.
You certainly have been kicking some tail, something tells me ther will be no shortage of Wallys in your future.
