No I can't make it saturday, having a party at my house for my son's football team. I have been out everyday since last monday. I live at 13 mile and greenfield rd. I'm less then a mile from that crazy azz mess

I was across the street from Art Van last night at the now famous Shell gas station...

I'll be at Art Van on Sat. only because we have spots out front. My dads cousin helped us get in but we had to work for it. We got in last year because a car didn't show up.

For those of you who never get there or don't get it ... look on a Michigan map and that avenue all the way from 7 Mile Rd. in DETROIT to past M59 in PONTIAC is "wall to wall" classic cars, street rods and old time hot rods and then the 1,000 or so actually cruising on Woodward Ave. That's about 15 miles with displays of just about anything automotive.

The "souped-up, chopped, channeled and shortened" IHC garbage truck is my favorite.

I have always wanted to come to this phenominom.If someone could show us around,I will make plans for next year. Sounds like a blast.

Rick, you your wife and Jack can stay the whole weekend with us. I have all kinds of room at this house, y'all will even have your own kitchen and bathroom!!! I will have my car up there next year also! I'm less then 1 mile from the main body of this historic event. It's killing me that I can't walk down there today at all.

Yeah that thing is pretty sweet! I see it every year, it was fun.

Just a hint to you guy how big this event is. People start cruising a week before and a couple days after. They have cops from just about every station in the county there. At the end they get BIG AZZ Reliable semi trucks with trailers and push everyone out, then people still try cruising. All the cops go down the street, they block off all the side roads, and they even get the police helicopter out and shine a spotlight down to find more people. Yes, its that big of a deal! They allow open headers also,

Did anyone get a picture of the pro street garbage truck?? I have never seen that thing before...

D, I didn't get a picture of it. But I can't believe you've never seen it before, its been there every year and I've been going since I was, ummm, somewhere before 5th grade and I'm in 11th now. I know, its friggin awesome! But it had to be a pain to clean it up unless they just made it out of fiberglass.

I don't have a picture of us. But there is a video of last year where they went by us, not as many family members were there though. I saw A cement truck, I never saw a pro street one. Sounds pretty cool, if you can think it....

I'll get the video for you, meanwhile I'll look through the videos for this year and try to find one with us in it. One cool thing is when we went cruising before it got packed we were at the light with the news van, the women said "hello"! my dad looked and she took a picture.

Oh, and I just got a call about that job I mentioned before. I got it, but what a wait. I'm disapointed. My dad's first job was at the same collision shop

I do good body work, but man I hate doing it. How much has to be done and what will you pay? I did a lot of it on my cougar, looks great. I got the painters eye.

I went out last sunday was perfect weather (weather was exactly opposite of official dream cruise day)... but there were almost NO cars out... like 2 at the shell station... I ended up at 13 and Woodward where there was a fair size crowd in the Kroger parking lot.

wondering if anyone will be out later today (sat)... any local guys going to be at the shell station tonite?

I remember cruising the streets in my hometown w/my red 65 Mustang .Man,we had a blast. It always was a big deal on Fri/Sat nite. Nowadadays the city police put up no left turn sighns so the kids can't cruise the city block.So now they just go out and get into trouble I guess.

There was s pretty decent crowd at the Shell station on Woodward n Normandy tonight... talked with a few guys and had a few admirers of my Torino too... greart weather too! also went to Milan dragway for the national muscle car drags... lots of cool cars, tons of different classes to watch... great day of car stuff for me today!

Shane, If I would have turned on the computer yesterday and saw this post I would have met cha up there man! I'm real close to the shell station. Oh well maybe next time you are this way give me a shout!

Ill likely be out there again next fri... unless somthing out of the ordinary happens ive been cruising every fri sat sun that im off... I work next sat.. and I think next sunday im gunna try Bakers in Milford.. ive always heard thats a good time there, but never tried it
