Re: Prayers needed for Tracy's dad
The greatest generation is coming slowly to an end, and there is not a damn thing we can do about it. My Dad was Naval Armed Guard and it's been two years since he's gone. Tracy, prayers and well wishes for you and the family.

Re: Prayers needed for Tracy's dad
Thank you very much guys.
We lost a TRUE American Hero today at 4:05PM Eastern time. He was 89 years old.
Tracy is pretty upset about our loss but he's resting now and is no longer in pain.
You guys never got the pleasure of meeting Charles Douglas Atwell however I will introduce you to one of the greatest men I've ever known.
Captain Charles Douglas Atwell served in WWII and cruised over the Pacific in a B29 Superfortress Bomber.

I thoroughly enjoyed the stories that Mr. Atwell would tell me about his trips to Guam.
Mr. Atwell retired from WAVE 3 where he worked in radio for 6 years and television for 40 years. When I get a chance, I’ll scan some pictures of Mr. Atwell at work behind vintage cameras. He traveled a lot while working the UK Basketball games and was a true blue UK fan (is there any other?)
When I get more details I’ll let you guys know. I do know that visitation will be Thursday August 26th from 4 to 8PM at Pearson’s Funeral Home in Louisville KY.

Again thank you very much and Tracy wants you guys to know that we consider the BBF Brotherhood (You guys) our Family as well.

Re: Prayers needed for Tracy's dad
I just got off the phone with Doug, Tracy's Brother, and he reminded me of other stories from Mr. Atwell's adventures during WWII. He has pictures of Hiroshima after the Enola Gay dropped "The Bomb".
During Mr. Atwell's time in Guam, he traded a 1/5 of Scotch for a Jeep
Mr. Atwell was an Instructor Pilot and then his crew moved on over to Guam towards the end of the war. Tracy is going to try and find the picture of when Japan surrendered and I'll see if I can get them scanned as well.
