Dyno tested the new Pro Systems carb...
I not sure you guys would want to know the results because it was on a 800 Horsepower, 7,500 RPM, B.B. Chevy 496. If this bothers you then don't go any further and just forget it.
Peak horsepower moved higher to 7,300 RPM Vs. 7,100 RPM with a 4150 Holley #0-80513-1 and showed a 23 horsepower increase.
Peak torque was at the same 5,300 RPM and was 16 lb/ft higher.
Part throttle response wasn't bad at all, once you got to a higher than idle speed; no big air/fuel ratio holes were noticed either.
Actual numbers witheld by engine owner's request.

Was this the SV-1? What size was the 4150?

A well tuned 1,000 cfm Holley carb and the new 4" throttle bore Pro System's, (whatever it's called).

It would be interesting to know what a 7,500 rpm 800 hp 496" engine would do with a 1050 or 1150 Dominator.
I take it this carb bolts directly to the 4150 manifold so it could be considered the best carb for that manifold.
Oh yeah.....this post is worthless with out pictures

Then it's gonna stay worthless ... sorry I brought it up.
You can't simply take pictures of someone else's engine on the dyno without their approval ... this was supposed to be secret and I've probably said to much already.

23 and 16 is a pretty big gain with all else being equal.

Well hopefully your Chevy customer doesn't visit Fords sites to often. Nice increase though.

The 4150 makes the SV1 look like a HeRo..................

So Randy... The big question is... Were you impressed? How well did it idle?

It idled well and just off idle there was a slight sag in the part throttle but, the fuel ratio remained livable. It has one hell of a pump shot so if any type of milage is your goal, then this isn't it.
I went into this test SKEPTICLE so, it did impress me somewhat.
Nick ... The test rpm started at 4,500 RPM so, I have no idea how it would perform all the way down to 2,500 RPM and in the EMC that is critical; peak power alone means almost nothing in that contest.
DRAG racing is a different story.

Can you say how many cfm Patrick set this SV1 up for? Was it a 1,000cfm vs 1,000cfm etc...?

Re: Dyno tested the new Pro Systems carb...
Thanks heaps for sharing the info, and at some personal cost!
Took delivery of my 1150cfm SV-1 a few weeks ago and am eager to get it on the dyno when motor is finished soon.
Thanks,
Sean.

I have no idea.
Considering I have a 1400 cfm SV1, with a throttle bore of 4.52", and Randy mentioning the one He tested had a 4" bore, it would equate to around 1050 cfm range, give or take....
