KY Testing at I57
Randy took the car up this afternoon to get a few test passes before trying to qualify for the Quick 16 tomorrow. First pass off the trailer was a 5.070 @ 139.44 mph with a 1.08 60'.

Re: KY Testing at I57
Yep, I was getting text messages from him and a 5.07 and a 5.06 e.t. it is. Maybe tomorrow will be even better. He felt like the track was a little bit loose on the second pass.

Re: KY Testing at I57
Thanks guys.
That was without W's too 33 x 15 x 15s mickey thompson tires . I am very happy with the #'s but I still think there is some more et in it with the fuel tune.
I also do not have the hood scoop sealed yet because there is some more manifold testing going to happen and I am not building an air pan for every intake manifold.
The trick flow intake is on now and it really seems to be a fine intake manifold especially when you weigh out the fact this manifold has not been ported , I just slicked it up a bit my self with some sand cartridges other wise it is straight out of the box .
Just to compare to my friends bbc last night he has a 604 cid tall deck drce1 block cam selection and head work done by Al Neal, sheet metal intake and 2 dominators on gas . He ran 5.07 last night and his car was stronger than mine through the middle of the 1/8 mile. I had a better 60 ' 1.08 to his 1.11 , and I had better mph 139 to his 137.
So the Ky crew is right up there with the legendary Al Neal with oem headed junk
I have to give Lem , Charlie and Laws a pat on the back

Re: KY Testing at I57
Yep, I got a couple of phone calls. I-57 at Benton, IL had a $5000 to win Super Pro race today. They also had a Quick 16, with 8 dragsters and 8 door cars. Ransy qualified with a 5.08 and the bump was 5.13 for the door cars. He ran a best of 5.073 at 141 mph. I repeat 141 mph. Anyway he lost to a friend of his, said he was late on the tree. He still thinks he can improve the alky tune-up and go even quicker. He said there was a huge turnout of racers there, that they had so many they were doing the different color thing,,,and he was loading up to return home.

Re: KY Testing at I57
Here is some video , i did not get the 5.06 pass from last night on video Ms mustang could not go. Anyway the track would not hold a 6000 rpm launch so I had to back it down to 4600 , they qualified us with the sun on the track and the track just does not have the bite it does at night.

Nice job.
It's getting so damn close to a '99 now. Just a smidge here, a tweak there.

That thing was flying.
I got to see Randy's last pass from the finish line last night. That thing was hauling. You have to love Evans P-51 power. It was nice to meet you Randy. That car looks sweet with the new paint.

Re: KY Testing at I57
Nice to meet you also 512 sorry I did not get down there to check your car out seemed like I had something to do all night. I have to add if you think you saw a stage battle between me and that 57 chevy in the last video you wait till the next time I will set there until I run out of fuel , he makes no attempt to stage first and he will the next time if I get barred from the track in the process.
Here is the egt graph still showing fat and the mph is improving with the tuning on the high speed lean out , so I think I am headed in the right direction. Gonna turn the shift point up next time out and do some individual nozzle changes. For some reason the rpm graph seems to be jumping around and not staying consistent with the tach.
