If I only had the funds
I went to some races a few weeks ago and every other car was a fox body mustang. I sincce have decided to build something else. I'm thinking a pinto wagon, so I been looking around and saw this. I would buy it as a roller and put a BBF in it.

Those foxes are a hard chassi to pass up, but perhaps an Mustang 2 or a Maverick would be right up your alley?

Billy Glidden's pinto went for $270,000. A guy in OH has one of his thunderbirds that my engine guy was going to buy off of him for 8k, not now though.

Re: If I only had the funds
You'll find one Nathan. just hang in there. My Uncle down in Miss. probably knows of one. But we dont speak anymore. We bought one from him for my kid brother, and drove it home. That was twenty years ago. But we dont talk anymore since my Grandmothers death recently. Its a long story.
Since we are on the Pinto subject; what is the wheelbase for a hatch?? I think later fiberglass companies offed extended frontends for them. Ive seen some lengthened out over the years.
Hey Coug, whats yours??
Thanks.
Al

Re: If I only had the funds
BOB Gliddens I thought there was only one, my dad made it sound like there was only one Glidden boy. Here's the pinto, as for the thunderbird I'm not sure which one it was. The guy bleeds blue and has a Roush engine in it. He wanted to sell it for 8k with the trailer but the trailer wouldn't make it down the road yadda yadda some crap like that. For the price I would scrap the trailer and put the car on my own trailer.bbf-falcon wrote:Did'nt know Billy ever had a Pinto,Bob had one that I got too see race in "73

For a hatch or for a wagon? The hatch is 94". I would be interested in a stretched front end but I have never seen one for sale. I figured it was always one of those backyard things.

Okay, the link must have been messed up because you have to purchase the image. So it didn't come up as the same one.

BTW, I read in a Wayne Gapp interview. Their first Pinto they built was sold to Bob Glidden. It blew the motor first time out, among other things before Glidden got it.Then Glidden proceded to beat up pretty good on them, according to Gapp

Yea, the EXP is something that has to be suggested if someone is looking to build something cool & "different". Glidden's EXP was epic, the valve covers really filled up the engine compartment in that small car.res0rli9 wrote:why not get an EXP they are and diff.
Found a few EXP's on youtube...........

Unfortunately in this video from the 80's the EXP crashes. But it is an interesting look at the "dry hop dance" they did way back then.
