Former Glidden car spotted at my neighbor's house......
I don't know if this is real or not, but it looks very convincing. I don't know who owns this, but if this is your car, and you want me to remove the pics, I will. The only specs I know are large by huge bore and stroke with almost 1 inch lift on the cam. I try not to pry.
I thought it was pretty dang cool.

Real or not, that's one nasty lookin' ride. Took forever to load up on my phone though But, isn't that Bob Glidden's signature on the dash plate?

When I hear a thumpin' sound, I'll run over there with my camera. I don't know where he will run it though.

Seriously, I don't even know. But now you have me wondering............
The silver car behind it is some kind of Windsor something with heads that say Blue Thunder 3.60. I don't even know what that means.....
Maybe I should Google it......................

I knew a guy named Ron Dubas who had a Glidden T-Bird like that. I think he was from Ohio. Used to see him at the Darlington SpringNationals running T/S.

Did he race it once, then put it in the trailer and never race it again? Did he have a Roush crate motor in it?BigDave65 wrote:I knew a guy named Ron Dubas who had a Glidden T-Bird like that. I think he was from Ohio. Used to see him at the Darlington SpringNationals running T/S.

No, the guy I knew raced his car quite a lot. It definitely didn't have a crate motor in it when I saw it because he was running Top Sportsman. I haven't heard from him in years so I don't know how long he may have kept it or what happened to it.
LOL Roush wasn't even building crate motors when I knew this guy.

Glidden Car
Jim Yates bought one of the old Glidden Motorcraft car about 1986 or so and raced it a Colonial Beach Virgina. It could be that car in this picture. I have long since forgotten what powerplant Jim was running, I just remember being in awe of him and that machine. This was before he went Prostock racing. I was a young lad in the military back then running a FE in a 69 Mustang.
