Albuquerque, NM reporting...
Hey from a mile high in the desert!
I work for Lockheed at Kirtland AFB here producing software to help train Spec Ops personnel. I've been into drag racing since the early 90's in upstate NY, Houston, and now here. Did a lot of serious street racing with ocassional trips to the strip just to get an ET slip back then. Finally got married and settled down.
I built my '69 to be a street machine (street legal) but to be able to hang with the big dogs as best it can. I kept the full stock interior, no tubs, all steel so far and uncut. Being at high altitude I decided to ditch my 393ci Cleveland and stuff the biggest motor in it I could. Everything up here naturally aspirated runs about a second slower than down at Houston or at 'The Valley' in NY due to the thin air. So the shit box, ricer turbo cars have a big advantage. I've managed uncorrected 1.61 60's na foot braking it and 11.4 @ 119mph na and 10.8 @ 128mph on a small, delayed shot. I know there's another 1/2 a second or more in there on the motor alone and I plan to dial in my new NOS progressive controller with a bigger hit. Chipping away at the stone...
Here's our other stang. Its a Roush 428R that's putting down 430rwhp and 432rwtq after some modifications.
