Just shimmed my distributer and timing doesnt jump all over the place.
Bronze gear had slight wear and timing chain had about 3 degrees slack before distr. moved but the problem was .030 too much end play. I thought the cam pulling it down would be good,but i was wrong Boy she revs good again. Thanks

around 35 total and 16 at idle, alot crisper hope it helps. I had a distr. gear wear from alot of driving-bronze on 351w and it did hurt power up stairs and this is how it acted , i will just cross fingers lol...,ED P.S. stopping helps if i dont watch billboard , i have to hit brakes right after cones

Maybe you caught it soon enough and not hurt anything. Ed you may need to add a chute for all that speed to help them brakes out

How did you shim your distributer? How much? I have an issue with my timing moving on me as well. the timing drops by itself after a few passes....not sure how the hell this happens

Do you move it back to where it was before after it changes itself? Or is the distributor moving? You might have fords version of Christene Hit it with a hammer and if its fixed tomorrow your in deep $#!t

No it's moving on it's on. The initial moves from like 15* to 12* within a few passes
