Photoshopped a mach 1
Okay, I hate mustangs since everybody and their mother has one. Sort of. But some I like since they are just badazz but I don't want to own one because everyone else has one, you know what I mean? Well there is one mustang that I would own, a mach 1, after seeing the "boss snake" car I realized that I like the 73 the most out of all the mach 1's. I found one online and worked my magic on it, I bet you can't tell me all the things that are different on it. Doesn't it look a lot cooler now? the cowl was made from the paintbrush, then I worked it a lot and made it look cool.

Never been a huge fan of cowl induction type hoods on Ford products. It looks too bow tie to me. BUT if you like it thats all that matters.
Re: Photoshopped a mach 1
I did think it kind of looks like a slowmaro, not the goal I was thinking, if I ever got a mustang. I would make it look as much like the plane as possible and make it a drag car.jsracing wrote:Never been a huge fan of cowl induction type hoods on Ford products. It looks too bow tie to me. Re: Photoshopped a mach 1
Trust me, if I build a car its not being built because of what others think. I was wanting to make a 86 ranger drag car, maybe a sweet jeep chereokee drag car (keep in mind they would be modified to my liking of course). I've got crap about my truck and how I'm building it but its MINE so if they want it built a certain way they can get one and build it themselves.richter69 wrote:quit worrying about what everyone else thinks about YOUR car and do it how you want...........

I'm not crazy about their headlight setup, bob glidden had one. I've always wanted a 3 slot grill 48 anglia, 48 thames, or a 59 anglia. But its $$$ if you find on for a good price its overseas and it costs $$$ to go get it and bring it back.res0rli9 wrote:You tell em tadpole ill wiggle

Keep in mind I had the ideas long before I saw the pictures, the pictures are an after thought. Except for the 59 anglia. When that time comes you guys can expect something different and cool!

I want to make my current build a hot rod, then it would be used to haul my drag car from all that 385 torque

Actually, I've always wanted a maverick drag car and have been leaning towards that. The maverick we have now has so much meaning to us, I think we will end up keeping that then I can buy it and make it a drag car(hopefully). That way we still have THAT exact one, it has a lot of memories and sentimental value to us. You never know what will happen though. I also thought about saying F it! and dropping my 466 in the mav instead of the f100

Re: Photoshopped a mach 1
Justin if I may apply my personal adjustments to your Mustang thoughts, I would go this route. Considering the paint is OK and I personally like the silver with black accents. A conservative Ford 385 Series engine displacing 466 cubic inches with a set of inexpensive aluminum cylinder heads, hooked to a C4, 3.25:1 final drive, coated headers with a quality exhaust that include three chamber mufflers into a nice tailpipe assembly that finishes at the factory Mach 1 valance. A set of 15 X 7 Magnum's, quality tires and drive that Mustang and be proud! Oh I almost forgot. Use that factory hood, they don't get much nicer and take those "slapper bars" off!

That sounds nice, besides. I can't make them ALL drag cars go ahead and add any thoughts you want, I'm the same way. I add info to help people out, I was helping my auto teacher out this week a lot with descriptions of things.LivermoreDave wrote:Justin if I may apply my personal adjustments to your Mustang thoughts, I would go this route. Maybe when I find a new toy
Mines actually what's called a 73 "sports coupe" it's a cross between a Mach one and a coupe body. Basicly Mach 1 hood, stripes, spoiler. Etc. But you can actually see the cars behind you as your smoking them in a race unlike the fastbacks.

It's just my preference though, the mach 1's rear "window" just isn't my cup of tea. It's why I picked mine over the Mach that I bought my car from. And the coupe had a 351 in it to the machs 302

The back end is kind of big, its a look you have to like. I've never been in one and tried backing up with a fastback style so I don't know.Maddmattmustangs wrote:It's just my preference though, the mach 1's rear "window" just isn't my cup of tea. Oh don't get me wrong I love the fastback look! It's just I'd opt in for a backup camera from autozone
Backing outs not bad after you figure out how far the back sticks out.

It ain't braggin if you back it up! I can only imagine how difficult it is to see, and to clean the inside of the back glass probably hurts your arm.Maddmattmustangs wrote:Oh don't get me wrong I love the fastback look! It's just I'd opt in for a backup camera from autozone

Do you have any information on the 59 Anglia,i'm almost positive my buddy built the chassis on that car.
Later Mark.
