429-460 how to tell them apart

I just got a short block from a guy that sold me a 460 a while back and the block was cracked so he made good and gave me another block, i'm wondering if its a 429 or 460 whats the best way to find out ?

In many cases the block casting numbers aren't any different.

blocks will inter change unless it is a d9 block then it is exturnal balanced where the c8,c9,dove,dive are inturnal balanced

This might be the case with a "virgin" shortblock...But the best info to put out there is to check the casting numbers on everything!
