You running a FC cage D?
If so check out A.R.T. They have one thats smaller for the FC, and the regular size for cars without the FC cage like Nicks.
Ill be in town the 23rd Nov. You got a welder? or outlet.
Get one ordered, and ill install it for ya.

Not a real good photo, but this is one I got from Wolfe Racecraft, (made by Stroud). I modified Wolfe's mounting with a rod end on the top back end so it would pivot down and out of the way, instead of using the stick in a tube method it originally had.

Thats the type of upper mount I was refering to D. You could substitute a weld-clevis instead of a rod-end also if ya wanted.
Dont mean to knock anybodys setup. But why run a fullsize net when you have a FC cage? Seems it would get in the way.
Id prefer the small ones that go in front of the FC cage. They are legal too....
Regards.

I always recommend a full size net. Just think of it this way. when you are buckled down as tight as you can get reach out and touch as much as you can with your hands. That is what your head can and will possibly hit in a crash. if your head can move that much, what will your arms do. I want protection. With the intercooler in the passenger seat we are contemplating adding the inside net like NASCAR and a lot of pro-mods are using now because of that fact.

I prefer to install the net tubes in the front & back of the net (like Jon's) vs the top & bottom. That way the net tubes & net can be bent/formed to follow the shape of the inside of the cage/FC cage to give the driver more room if necessary.

The front tube is the normal rod-end bottom/seat belt latch top setup. The rear tube is welded one end solid to the cage, the other end attaches to the cage with either a clevis & bracket or a threaded insert & bracket.

Well inside to "inside-ish". The net's attachment points just can't be on the outside of the cage structure where a crash could rip it's mounting points/hardware off the cage making the net useless.

if it's outside the cage, then it kind of defeats some of the purpose doesn't it?

Thanks for the clarification Dave. I've just seen too many cars where the net just hangs too far inside the car. The net is actually just laying up against their body. Seems like it would be in the way if you ask me.

But then again the cars I mention have cages that are "kits" that were just stuck in there to meet a rule and didn't really have any real thought put into the design and function.

That's where putting the net rods/tubes in the front & back of the net (vs top & bottom of the net) can help make some more driver room by bending the rods to follow the inside shape of the cage/main hoop structure.
