Re: Cleaveland crank
I bought one from a comp eliminator guy many years ago. It was stock stroke and ground to 2.00 sb chevy rods. When I checked it after a while it was cracked. Ended up buying steel. As far as I know the pro stock guys ran 2 bolt blocks and stock cranks at >9000 back in the day.
That being said I think Scat makes decent strokers now for decent money. Prepping, Offset grinding and widening the journals will put a pretty big dent in a new one imo.

IMO a stock 351C crank can take about anything you can throw at it, the factory block will fail before the crank.

Re: Cleaveland crank
Al back when I had my 70 model 351c 4v heads it didn't get to running good until about 5000 rpms i turned it over 7000 rpms alot of times when shifting gears.I don't think it had a top end rpm I did drop a factory intake valve took out the #3 cyclinder busted it around the lifter bent the rod into a s shape.Had the crank checked it checked out fine sold all the stuff I could save out of it.My mild built 460 seams to have as much power or more power for alot less money than what I had in the 351c.

Re: Cleaveland crank
Thats what I was thinking Dave,
Jim I agree with ya too, 460 vs 351c
I was looking around today at Dart blocks for kicks. Then I noticed it has Cleveland journals. I already have a Cleveland crank. Got me to thinking...
Adney isnt too bad for what he charges to offset grind one though If I recall. No, Im not switching over. The stock OEM crank motors have always interested me. Says alot for Ford products IMO.
Just wanted to know.
Thanks.
