Polly locks contacting rocker arms
It seems like the polly lock is going to far down on the stud & the nut part of the polly lock is barely hitting the inside of the rocker. The heads are aluminum a429, roller rockers, roller solid cam, the valve lash calls for .014 cold. Checked the valve geometry & it looks good. What can I do to fix this?

The heads cam & lifters came out of my friends 514 with no clearance issues.

Sounds to me as though the poly-lock itself isn't long enough and are not the correct ones for those rocker arms.

Engine Works makes a set with a 12 point head they are a little longer than standard locks, they will give the clearance you need. If you cant find local try this guy

Where is it contacting the rocker arm body? Does the rocker slot touch the poly-lock at max lift? Please elaborate or post a picture.mustangjeff wrote:It seems like the polly lock is going too far down on the stud & the nut part of the poly lock is barely hitting the inside of the rocker.

A bit of marking on the sides of the slots is normal. Otherwise, go back and recheck the geometry.
