Leakdown check
Since it's time to start getting ready for next season and evaluating what I need to do, I wanted to see how others did this. I have a Moroso leakdown tester and was curious what procedure others followed to get a pretty accurate reading. I have leaked-down several engines but sometimes question my results.
So if you don't, mind offer up opinions and ideas. Thanks

Re: Leakdown check
Well I just had my Buddy help me with this years leak down test. and this is how we did it.
He had the tester, My job was to get the test cylinder up to Top Dead Center , A little off either way and the air pressure will push the piston down, and even holding it there with a 3 foot breaker bar it will get away on ya. But at TDC it holds there by it's self. Then insert the test hose and apply air pressure to 100 Psi and read the leak down gauge for the over reading. Most of my Cylinders where 92 over 100. this was tested at 68 drg. shop temp.
Now weather this was the correct way to do it or not I don't know, this was my first time testing my engine.

Re: Leakdown check
We've always done it with the engine at operating temperature.
