Storm came through last night and blew one of my 4' lights down under the shelter and it hit my Ranger on top of the cab no big damage just 3 good deep scrathes. Dan how can I touch them up without repainting the whole top and them not stick out like a sore tumb.Thuoght about a pin stripping brush and building it up aliitle at a time then buffing it later on real good. I only have about a pint of the paint left if that much but can mix some up and touch up with a pin strip brush.

I know you asked for Dan's opinion, but my dad painted as a profession for a good 30+ years so I have picked up a lot from him. If no body work needs to be done then I would take a DA to it and feather the paint. Then spray a little red over it then clear and wet sand. JMHO It wouldn't take too much work, you wouldn't have to do the whole roof (just that area) and it will look like it never happened.

I don't have clear coat on the truck this is Acrylic Enamel Paint from Restoration Shop. If I had clear coat it would be a easy fix but not sure on this type paint.

If there are no dents I would clean the area real good with wax and grease remover, then build it up slowly with the thin brush letting each coat dry a bit. After it is built up a little higher than the original paint you can either sand it flush and wet sand and buff. Or something I like to do is after building up the paint take a single edge razor blade and just scrape it down flush then buff it out.

That is what I was thinking just good to hear other that has done it before and get some pointers before I do it. I probley wouldn't worry about it much but except I don't have a enclosed shop to keep it in right now and don't want it to rust, one of the scrathes is all the way down to metal.

If you've got some of the paint left , clean the scratches with some thinner or mineral spirits (wax and grease remover) would be best and just touch it up with a brush or a Q-tip. It's on top so only you will probably notice it.If you don't have any paint ,try some touch up paint..Good luck

You'll need to piant the roof panel to make it look right. They make a blender to spray on the edge where you stop ,if it doesn't have a body seam to stop at. I've spotted my Tbird in on a few different occassions, it's acrylic enamel..
