6.605 rods what strokes can they be used in... probably just use the factor crank thats sitting here. but I was just curious on my options...they are .990 and 2.500

all would need a custom crank except the stock stroke 3.850 and the 4.300 . chart did'nt have the 429's 3.590

4.3 is ideal if I choose to buy a new crank. I think either way its gonna be a custom piston deal. which is what I was trying to avoid on this setup...

I to just received these rods, and I dont see the 4.300 stroke piston either... I dont think its gonna be an off the shelf deal. I'm thinkin about just getting some 6.700 or 6.800 rods and going from there. then its wide open.

Diamonds #40229 FD BB DS 4.440B/4.300S/6.605R/1.540CD have 16 in over stock...


and why build an engine cuz you have a rod, build what is right and what you want..... not just cuz you got some rods cheap....

That is exactly what the FRPP 514 crate motor uses. A crate motor replacement piston will certainly work.
Be sure to use a D9 or a block with the longer cylinders to help control piston "rattle" at bottom dead center.

How much are those D pistons. I am building just a stock stroke bottom end. still have to get pistons. Well I some but decided to use a different head and dont want the dome any more. Don't really need the extra cubes its going in a early bronco. But may just add a few cubes anyway

Speed Pro fordged dome .060 over floating pins all have weight matched New never used I would do $400.00 shipped to ya

just trying to build a street engine for my first go around. it will be either a c8 , d0 or d1 block so I was good with going with the factory stroke. so I figured maybe I would just use the factory crank, and I bought these rods in the auction block. now If I could just get a set of pistons for a good price then I'm good. But I had seen somewhere where the stock rod length could be used on different strokes, and was just wanting to weight my options...but if what the other Randy suggested about getting a d9 block because of the longer cylinders comes into play even with a 4.300 stroke, then I'm good with the set-up I have so far...and I appreciate the info on the Diamonds and your suggestions.....to both Randys study

add up the number with 1.525 CH + 6.605 rod + 1/2 strole(4.300 . leaves it .020 down the bore in a 10.300 deck block

6.625" is as close as you're going to get. And those have a .990" pin end.

Then you haven't looked very much ... Eagle, REV, Saenz, Crower all have that length as a shelf item. I'm sure there are more. They may be listed as 6.635" which is a .500" long Big Block Chevy.
