If my memory is correct, the 1961 Starliner cars with the big engine option were 390 CID and with the 3X2 intake manifold option they were rated at 401 Hp.

Yep! Charlie your right as always ...I had one back in the day, the 390/401hp. and they had smaller cc. heads also.

Yep,and my ole 62 406 3x2 was rated at 405. Still kikin my butt for lettin it get away

I think the 406 was 406hp... 1 to 1 cube for hp ratio.. and used the small chamber tall port heads... I think..Its been so long ago...
