Question for the truckers on GPS... Empty Question for the truckers on GPS...

What is a decent, not too expensive GPS with truck routing ? I see that Garmin has the 465T for around $350 but I'm looking for something a little less expensive. Thanks, Nick.

I have never used a Tom Tom but we have gone through 3 Garmins so I wouldn't recommend a Garmin.

I have a Magellan that I paid under $200 for at Best Buy. I've never updated the maps and it's worked fine all over the USA.

Rand McNally has a truck specific gps and there is one other I can't remember right now. You hear good and bad about them but most truckers I have talked with use Garmin. I have been using my BlackBerry for a few weeks now and it seems to work pretty well.

I wound up getting a Garmin 255WT on sale for $79.95 at Best Buy. They usually go for around $169. So far it works good. Time will tell. Thanks again for all the replies. Nick.

I have found that the navagation systems that come with the automobiles or Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood are much better than the tomtom, Garmin type systems. Plus you can update the indash systems.
