Curt R. from Texas
Curt,
Many decades ago in the early, early seventies, I was stationed at Ft. Polk, LA (aka The Hell Hole of the South) doing some training for Uncle Sam. That made me an "Honorary Cajun", a title I still wear proudly today.
Therefore I ask you, what happened in that bowl game between Texas A&M and LSU? I thought you said A&M was going to win. They got waxed by 17 points, any explanation?

The 12th and 13th man forgot where the bowl game was being played evidently. The Big 12 sucked in the bowl games this year. Congrats to all the teams that played hard and won for their respective colleges. I was sad that NU lost too, but they just plain and simple got beat. Can't win them all.

Re: Curt R. from Texas
Thanks for calling me out Uncle Charlie! I must say that my Aggies were there, much to the surprise of many sports "experts". LSU did play their hearts out, and even my friends that are staunch LSU fans agree, that LSU had not played that well all season. Unfortunately, we also had not played that poorly under quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Our turnovers were definitely the difference in the game and our Pro Coach did not make any adjustments after we lost 2 key defensive players. Not to say that the Tigers excellent defense was not the reason for those turnovers. Overall, Aggies, although not happy with the outcome, were very happy to be playing in the Cotton Bowl. We were Big 12 Co-Champions, which was pleasing after our poor start, finishing the regular season without any losses after replacing our QB. LSUs MVP went to high school about 60 miles from College Station, it's a shame we didn't get him.
We are hoping for another great season next year.
Schmitty, we only have the 12th man. If you have ever been to an Aggie Football game, you have experinced the 12th man. It alone makes the ticket worth the price of admission. The March in with the Corps of Cadets will make you proud to be an American. We finished the season with a respectable record. We are okay with it, and finish the same record as Nebraska.
Its a shame that sports life revolves around football, our Basketball teams are both ranked in the top 25(my girls are part of the womens team, #5 in the nation), our track teams just won national championships. All of our athletic programs do well, there just isn't enough hipe for ESPN to air them. Plus we do it without NCAA violations or signing thieves and thugs to get questionable players.
Above all, we are a very proud bunch, win or loose. This University has an unbelievable amount of traditions and school spirit!
But, thanks for asking. It gave me a platform to let people how proud I am of Texas A&M!
Gig'em Aggies...... Whoop!
Here is a picture of my daugters hand with her Big 12 Championship ring from last year!

That truly IS something to be proud of Curt. When I razz someone about their school or Pro team, thats all it is ,RAZZING. I think it's great that someone supports their school/team.That is the way it should be.

I've never been to College Station, but a lot of guys around here have, and they say the atmosphere is very comparable to what happens in Lincoln on game day there.
