My insider also said that when they bolted up the trans the dowl pin holes were full of dirt they tighten it till it broke the bell housing

Aint that the truth !!! I remember when I was probably 20 or so and had a Maverick Grabber that I converted over to a 4 speed, bone stock bottom end with a big camshaft, a set of early 289 heads. That car was as fun as it gets. 7000 rpm powershifts, never broke anything, drive it to the race track over an hour one way and race it, bring it home and all on less than $10 worth car of pump gas. The car ran a best of 12.89 but would run 12.90-13.00s on anygiven day. That was back in 89-90 and the fastest street car ran in the mid 11's around here. Well we went to the racetrack and I parked beside a VW Beetle, megaphone pipe, lettered like a super stocker (EVIL BEETLE).......you get it. I thought how fast can that thing possiblly be. Well I purposely waited to line up against it and I was sucessful. He handed me my ass when it ripped off a high 10 second pass. Boy I felt stupid but atleast I did ot run my mouth, just made an assumption and kept it to myself........ just goes to show how things arent always as they appear.

They used to be a guy here back in the 80s that ran at the circle track with a dodge cornet to look at it you would think it was just pulled up out of a barn or field that won every weekend.The engine in it looked about like that just old junk but the inside had the high dollar stuff in it he said why waste money on paint it don't make it run any faster or help if you reck it.

Maybe you had better reconsider racing him, the paint on the block is awfully close to cheby orange. That will easily add 100 horsepower?!!

And when will people realize that BBF's are nothing like chebbies? 600cfm ain't gonna cut it, I could run one on my stock 460 and it would still want more For god sakes, my friend has a 4150 holley 750 on his stock 302 and it runs healthy as an ox.

Depends on who built it.... I've seem some Junk that would supprise you and built to look like crap..... I remember street racing in Chacago in the Early-Mid 90's and seeing some stuff like that the are actualy disguised race cars......

But judging by the other pic's, I wouldn't worry to much about that one, The Regular Street Tires kill it... If he'd have some Slicks or DR's.... Might mean a little business.......
