Last spring when when my oil pan failed I bought a core 429 motor from a friend of mine sight unseen.I never picked it up because David C. let me have his old block to use. When he bought it sight unseen several yrs before it was supposed to be a 390.The guys had already took it out so he took it any way and set it a side. They told him it must be something special because it was so fast even in a big ol LTD.He called and asked me to come get it because he is cleaning out his shop. When I went and picked it up it was a complete and unmolested PI motor. Thought it was a pretty good snatch for core price.

Not good at rembering # d2 heads and d1 block I think.
Not sure what I plan to do with it yet, either make a low budger back up for my racecar or I have thougt of swapping it into my Fairlane. But the Fairlane is a factory 390 GTA car kind of hate to mess with it.?

You can measure the stroke through the spark plug hole. Not exact stuff, but it will be close enough to tell.
