I got a day job.......

After 13 years working shift work, I landed a day job. Instead of working in the field around 20,000 horsepower turbine driven compressors, I will work in the lab and check out the final product. I will make sure that the sulfuric acid is really acid. I will check that the oleum (WTF is that?) is oleum, and the ammonia and CO2 are 100 percent pure. 7am -3pm. I have seen enough fires, explosions, pipes bursting, and other mayhem to satisfy me for the rest of my life. I might even make it to the bash now, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Be safe around that stuff , I had to make new carbon bushings for a pump on an oleum barge a while ago and was told IF I breathed the vapors it would collapse my lungs. Of course I had on a respirator and did not question what the gentleman had told me after seeing the haze of smoke come out after we pulled the pump out.

About 3 years ago I was offered a M-F 6am-2:30pm job.
I hope the 12hr rotation job never reappears
