Chain floor. It has a small Yanmar diesel under the trailer right behind the rear tires on the semi. That is what runs the chain. Cool

I've had three cat 3406's, and 2 3208's and none have given trouble with anything internal yet. The E model Cat in the truck in the pic has 1,300,000 miles on it and to my knowlege hasn't had any of the front gears put in it. Cool

Seems like that in the summer months. Laughing Irrigate for 3-4 hours a day, and put up hay for 10-12 hrs, then spray for 4 hrs. Just living the dream. Laughing

That looks like the same machine that we use for wood chips. We have a few companies that buy scrap wood (skids etc.) then grind it all up into 2" poeces and then we haul it to green houses for bio-fuel.

We use walking floor trailers. They work pretty slick. http://www.keithwalkingfloor.com/how_it_works.html# We can pump a load off in about 20 minutes.

OK. Can you tell this city boy just exactly what you're grinding the hay for?

We grind the hay for feeding in mixed rations at a feedlot. It is loaded in a giant mixer on a truck and fed in bunks with corn, silage, and other feed components. It has to be ground fairly fine to mix and feed. Here is a link to a truck mount feed box. http://www.rotomix.com/commercial-series.php

John, as an end user, it cuts down on waste. The bigger the bale, the more that ends up trampled into the ground. You can also control the amount of feed going to each animal so that they don't over eat. With baled hay, it is just a guess.
