225" Spitzer dragster T/K or roller SOLD!
Sold the rolling chassis, but still have the engine, trans, headers, 15x15 Alumnastars, etc.
I finally decided that there was no way to keep both the dragster and the Falcon, so the dragster has to go. The car ran 4.68 at the first Bash and has only been raced once since then. I did keep the chassis tag (4/2013) and belts (10/2012) current. The car is currently turn key, but someone else is interested in the 562. Asking$7000 $6200 rolling with 16X16 Weld Magnums and $6300 $5500 with 15X15 Weld Alumnastars. Will be selling other parts like the trans, converter, headers, etc. after either the car or engine sell.
225" Spitzer hardtail
19 1/2" cage width at shoulders
4.11 Strange with alum. Strange carrier
MW slip coupler
new Wilwood brakes
16X16 Weld Magnums
MSD 7AL-2
Biondo mega 400
Impact cam-lock belts
Have wing and wheelie bar.(never needed either)
Have motor plates for BBF, BBC, & SBC.

I will offer the buyer first dibs on the trans, converter, headers, and injection system. Trans is a Dedenbear case, Trans Spec 1.80 str. cut planetary, Coan H.V. pump, Coan servo, Coan 9" conv.(5900 stall with A-headed 562). Dyna-tech ceramic coated headers for A-heads and crome plated Hooker headers for SCJ heads; both upswept. I also have complete Enderle injection systems for both style heads, with intakes and a small fortune in the associated plumbing. (Charlie Evans is an Enderle dealer in case there is something I don't have.) If the hat sits around here too long I'll be tempted to put it on the Falcon!
If somebody is interested in the car turn key with the Charlie and Lem built A-headed 562 let me know. Race ready 4.60's!

Frank,
Lem and I built that A-460 headed engine in his dragster and dynoed it. It's a very strong unit! Ken ran a 4.68 e.t. with it at the first Ford Bash at Windy Hollow and was #2 or 3 qualifer I think. However, since then he has been bringing his dad's (Wally) 70 1/2 Falcon CJ NHRA Stocker to the Bash and been rowing that 4-speed.

Thanks Charlie.
Frank, it is a 7.50 tag. to go 6.00 it just needs a small vertical bar added between the top frame rail and the front bar of the cage. Kinda like a "cozy-wing".

Frank, I must be wrong about the cage size. I just measured my shoulders, and they are almost 21". I will recheck that tomorrow.

Re: 225" Spitzer dragster T/K or roller SOLD!
My Spitzer car had a 19" hoop. It was fit to me and I'm a fairly good size boy. Dragsters used to be built for racing, now they are built for comfort and resale. My new car has a 24" cage and I feel like I can carry a passenger in it. If you look at the top fuel cars, they are built to fit the shoulders of the driver. If you were to hit the wall at 300 mph, the last thing you would want is the momentum of your body being slung from one side to the other.

Frank, we just measured the cage. It measured 19 1/2" at the shoulder. I'm 5'9" and 180 and when I first got the car, I felt loose in the seat. I added a thick foam seatpad to keep secure in my seat. You might not need it, but your kid would.

Re: 225" Spitzer dragster T/K or roller SOLD!
Just for reference, not trying to sell the car. I'm 6' 220 with 23" shoulders and I was very comfortable in my Spitzer.
Remember, when in the car your arms and shoulders are forward.
Just saying,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The chassis could meet the spec's but then you will have to change the rear end to a floater if its faster than 6.50 and/or quicker or 210 mphKens429 wrote:Thanks Charlie.

What year and how many passes? Has it been back to the chassis shop for any updates?

There are 2 pics of the car above my phone number in the first post. The car was built in 1989. Was originally built for IHRA's comp eliminator. Was run as a C/ED(sbc) and a G/ED(lame bbc). Then somewhere in the mid 90's it was updated to run Q-16 with a 565 bbc with spray(7.20's). During this time the car was not raced very often. Around 2001 or 2002, the original owners sold it to their buddy in the shop next door. These guys had the pinion angle reset to prevent excessive wheelstanding, then replaced all wiring and braking components, as well as a new steering rack. They put a warmed over 427 bbc in the car but, it wouldn't stay together! I bought the car in 2003, and ran around 100 passes with an iron CJ headed 466 before switching to the 563. There are less than 50 passes on the 563 and 0 on the trans since being freshened. I don't know how many passes are on the car, but I hope this helps.

Would also consider trades for a nice tube chassis door car or 28ft. or larger enclosed trailer.
