Re: WHATBUMPER..............
copy and paste from MWSC
"northstar doesn't spray wall to wall and the car drifted to the center. Josh lifted when it started drifting and he just aimed the car down the middle just hoping to take out the timing boxes. the right rear slid around and turned hard left and shot across and hit the wall about 100mph and since they don't have concrete it broke the rail and stood the car on end. flipped about three times and then barrel rolled about 5 more from the cell phone videos that we have seen. everything stayed on the track and there was no fire. I will post pics later."
If I'm out of line posting this I'll remove it, and if there is anything I can offer to help let me know.

Re: WHATBUMPER..............
sorry for the bad cell pics from a guy at the track. Don't worry we will put another one together. Josh is fine. he is tired from getting phone calls but fine. bruises from the harness. After looking at it today I think we can save the entire drivetrain.
Funny thing is a bunch of flips and barrel rolls but the doors still open and close. I guess that is good advertisement for our shops cages.

Re: WHATBUMPER..............
I hate to see this. My car tried to hit the wall head on last year when I crashed it. I got lucky and threw it into sideways and then got up on the wall. All I could see in my mind was my car looking like this one. I'm just glad everyone is ok, the car can be replaced!! Good cages and safety equipment are a very important part of surviving at high speeds.

Re: WHATBUMPER..............
Man sorry to hear about the wreck. Did Josh go get checked out, or do the "nah I'm OK" deal & skip the hospital check?
Denton still having guardrails instead of concrete walls is something they really do need to address soon in my opinion, especially if they want the TOPMA & other fast guys to go there. But I have noticed that they have at least upgraded to double rails past the finish line where before they only had a single rail. The old video on my youtube page of a friend's nova wrecking at Denton & going over/through the rail shows how bad the guard rail used to be there.
I was at the TOPMA show at Dallas this Saturday & Chuck Nuytten wrecked his vette bouncing it off the walls & catching fire. The car is pretty rough but last I heard was Chuck got out a little shaken & had a banged up thumb. But the concrete walls did their job & kept the car on the track.

Re: WHATBUMPER..............
I learned the hardway that guardrails aren't safe when I hit them last year at Mid Michigan Motorplex. I slid through the 1/8 mile traps sideways at 91 mph and hit the guardrails shortly thereafter. If I would have been going any faster I'm sure I would have gone right through the rails, as it was I almost went over the top anyway. I pushed the guardrail back over 2' from the edge of the track. In my opinion the track isn't safe, I'm not going back there! I figure if I was going a little faster I probably would have gone over the rail and started barrel rolling. With only a 6 pt rollbar it wouldn't have been good. Sorry about the picture, I guess I was still shaken up when I took the picture and messed it up. You can see my tire tracks on the pavement, I was really sideways when I hit but at least it helped soften the hit as you can see in the 2nd picture. Other than having to get the frame straightened the damage wasn't that bad.

he got checked out. We have been preaching for years that tracks need concrete barriers AND spray wall to wall. I am not posting the video but you can see dust fly when it gets to the center which is BS. If they had concrete, I feel that it would have just bounced off and possibly saved the car from the rolls. Of course the wall folding over like it did absorb some of the energy.
