Where to start with AFR meters
I don't really know enough to ask good questions, but here goes anyway!
I would like to buy a meter for air/fuel readings. I wish to use this on my tractor during the pull, so it needs to have a recorder built in. I don't and won't have enough money for a logger with a lot of channels, so I would like something to do a/f, rpm and ex temp. If I can start with something allowing both banks a/f, then add sensors as $ allows, where should I look and what should I expect to spend.
Or if I should do something different, what else would be out there?
Thanks
Perry

Re: Where to start with AFR meters
Perry,
I am in the same boat. No budget for a full on data recorder. I ordered an Altronics O2 Alert. It will record and give you afr's for two O2 sensors with calibrations for gas, methanol or ethanol, two egt's, rpm and voltage. It also has two open channels that can be adapted to just about anything you want to log. As my budget allows I plan to add the driveshaft rpm sensor and also an engine vacuum sensor. You could do anything though. Pressure, temps, etc.
I already had the egt probes so I just ordered the unit with a single O2. I can swap it side to side to test and add a second O2 later.

If you order you can use code # DRR011 for a 10% discount.
