Re: sparks were flyin !!!!
Nick mark the shock so you know witch way to turn it to soften or tighten them up.I need to mark mine some times we get to adjusting things a forget one might turn counter clockwise and the other clockwise. Will make for adjustment down the road easier with a few things and helps the mind out the older we get.

Re: sparks were flyin !!!!
A lot of suspension travel like your saying will cause the excess wheelie and tightening the shocks should help , but you got back in it after the bounce and multiplied the wheelie on that pass. I am not saying you could have rode it out and I think wheelie bars are a good idea , but I try to stay off mine and just tune with the suspension I don't even get on the bars until I get in the 1.10-1.08 60 times our cars are night and day difference though.

Re: sparks were flyin !!!!
You shouldnt lift in a wheelie. Just grab second if it gets too high and it will come down smooth( fenders are cheaper than oil pans). You could also try moving you I/C back to keep the front end down and messing with the limiters to find your sweet spot. Wheelie bars definitely help too.
Re: sparks were flyin !!!!
Moving the I/C forward and/or back doesn't always result in the expected outcome. I have seen some cars wheelstand higher with a shorter I/C, and some go higher with a longer I/C. It usually depends more on what a given car's combo really needs to work as efficiently as possible.Barney wrote:....You could also try moving you I/C back to keep the front end down........
That's why I feel that on a lot of 4-link cars somewhere around the 45-50" range is usually a good starting point for the I/C length on a new car/combo. That way you have a decent amount of adjustment either direction to work with.
Of course moving the I/C forward-back wont help Nick much if he still has a ladder bar setup. If that's the case then wheelie bars, shock/strut valving, suspension travel, movable ballast, & air pressure will all become that much more important tools.

Don't be too hard on yourself, these things happen cuz different company's do things different.bruno wrote:what an idiot ..... i adjust the struts clockwise , thinking that is full tight ....well guess what ....not on the strange deals its counter clock wise for full tight .....im i right guys ?......
On rear shocks both Koni & Santhuff each go different directions when tightening the top extension valving windows. Sometimes I do forget which shock's top adj window goes which direction. That's why I usually draw an arrow somewhere under the car on a piece of tape near each shock.

engine sounds stout , is this with the c-headed deal ? , well either way you have to much travel up front , we have .5 on our dr car ----- if i was you i would put those shocks at full tight and start out at 1" of travel anything else is asking for trouble .

Come on Nick. Leave the sissy sticks off. lol. Tighten up that front end and you will see a huge difference. Do you have the front end tied down too? That is a good idea also.
