Looks like they got hit really hard! I hope we didn't have any members lost in this storm..

Missed us here in Leasburg-Cuba, Mo area.Tragic what happened in Joplin. At last count 118 dead and over 400 injured.More to come this week they say.I'm trying to get a basement built for this reason, but can't even think of starting because of the rain.Wes

One of the guys I work with has a daughter and son-in-law in Joplin. They and the baby are ok, but they lost everything else. She worked in the hospital that got hit, but was off duty at the time. They sent some pictures to him and you can't believe how bad it looks...
Somebody was watching over them..

Storm had died down by the time it made it to us. My sister-in-law works in the hospital that got hit. Luckily she was out of town this weekend. They have several close friends that are missing. One father was bringing his son home from his high school graduation ceremony. The tornado sucked the son out of the father's arms in the their truck. They still have not found the son. Father is in the hospital. Unbelievable devastation down there.

I was parked in Neosho about 15 miles south of Joplin when it hit. What a mess, words can't describe it.

Re: Are our Missouri members OK?
Looking at a huge outbreak here in OK today, it dont get much better for strong long track tornadoes than this. As a chaser I'm highly excited, but in the same instance a good bit concerned as this could impact major cities including my hometown.
I'll go pick my dad up in OKC here at noon and target from there, and I dont think we will have to drive far. Other concern is the number of chasers that will be out today, I flew SW yesterday after work to catch a mothership spinning around the Apache area in the middle of no where to find a good 50 other chasers already there........
I may need to go get the spare CaPe out of the closet and have it close by.............and try not to get killed in the process.
