Engine has about 30 mins of run time and 4 passes. Gotta pull the head to make sure I didn't clip the valve with the piston!

I've done it before on high compression small blocks . few things that were done , same gasket on same side & head . do not clean/scrape head or block , used idianhead type sealer around water holes .

I reused a set way back in the day on a grenade, worked fine...............would I advise doing it for no more than the gasket cost on your build..............no.

If it were a Cometic it would be more than fine.

If it is the same head surface and the same block surface, you can re-use the gasket if it isn't in any way structurally compromised.

I'm out of intake gaskets and Jomar filters anyway. So I might as well pick up some new gaskets when I order the other stuff from Shawn next week. Just sucks that the local parts houses don't have this stuff.

I'll be pulling the heads this weekend. Hoping no junk went down the intake during the wreck. It's bad enough the valve cover breather got pushed into the stud girdle which caused the rocker to bind and bend the #8 ex pushrod. Hoping the valve isn't bent either

John did you pull the pan and look bottom end at your bearing if it hit that hard on the valve cover it may have traved it for oil to.Just something you may want to look at to if you hadn't . If the valve did hit the piston even if it didn't hurt the piston check and make sure that rod bearing not hurt.I have seen this happen before where a valve came in contact with piston it show it ugly head later on cost me $5000 one time all the ugly crap started at the cyclinder.

The pan, pickup and pump is getting changed to install it in the Mustang so I plan to pull some main and rod caps and see what it all looks like.

Depending on how it pushed against the stud girdle... is it possible it stressed/damaged the studs or any other related parts, since the girdle ties everything together?
